How are your cakes prepared?Our spectacular cakes are not mass produced in a factory and we do not use preservatives. Instead, we pride ourselves on using the finest ingredients and our own recipes to lovingly prepare freshly baked cakes to order, in small batches, daily. The nature of our craft takes time, care and precision to create cakes that look amazing, taste delicious and will certainly bring the wow factor to any special occasion

I’ve ordered a layer cake; can I personalise it by adding a message?Yes, you can. If you’ve ordered a layer cake from us at short notice and don’t have time to place a bespoke order, you can personalise it by adding a message. We offer this on our order page for each layer cake in several formats. Simply select your desired option and add your words (up to 30 characters).

How far in advance should I place my cake order?In all instances, it is advisable to give us as much notice as possible, especially when it comes to our bespoke cakes. Depending on your order type, advance notice times will vary but here are our recommendations as a guide: Cupcake orders (up to 48 units): at least two days in advance of the delivery/collection date. Cupcake orders (48 + units): at least 5 days in advance of the delivery/collection date. Layer Cakes from our set range: at least two days in advance of the delivery/collection date. Corporate orders: depends on size/quantity of order but we suggest at least 5 days in advance of the delivery / collection date. Bespoke cakes, larger orders including tiered cakes: we recommend giving at least two weeks’ notice or more if possible. Wedding cakes: to avoid disappointment, please book as far in advance as possible. We recommend at least 6-8 weeks in advance of the special day to ensure we have enough time for the consultation, tasting and planning processes.

Do you offer vegan or gluten free cakes?If you have special dietary requirements including vegan, we can discuss your cake needs through our Bespoke by Valencia service. - Please book a consultation and we will contact you to discuss your order in more detail to ensure we meet your expectations. We currently do not offer vegan cake options on our Fresh to Order cake ranges, however we're working on new recipes with vegan alternatives which we will share with you very soon - watch this space!

Do you offer delivery services?Yes, we certainly do, and it is our preference to deliver cakes to ensure that you receive your order in perfect condition for your special occasion. Please contact us with your postcode for pricing.

Can I collect my cake order from you?Yes, you can either in person or you can arrange for a courier service to collect on your behalf. Should you decide to have a courier (or someone else) collect the order for you, please ensure that they have the name the order was booked under as well as the order number with them when they come to collect. Please note that Valencia Cakes Ltd will not accept any responsibility for any damage to cakes once the order has been collected and left our premises. If you have arranged for the cake(s) to be collected / delivered to you by a courier and any damage is noticed on arrival at the order destination, please contact the courier company directly. I need to make an amendment to my order / cancel my cake order, are there any charges?"We understand and appreciate that sometimes plans can change unexpectedly and depending on the circumstances for amending/cancelling a cake order, you may in some instances, be able to get a full refund. We would advise that if you need to change the date or details of your order or cancel it completely, please contact us by phone on 07944 896 362, as far in advance as possible. We will always try to be as accommodating as we can if you need to change or postpone an order but please bear in mind that we bake all our cakes fresh to order and we may also have had to turn away other customers to fulfil your booking for a particular date, so refunds/changes are not always possible. Please refer to our full terms and conditions for clarity, but in brief, the following will apply: Cancellation due to Covid – 19 circumstances: To offer our customers greater reassurance for booking a cake order in advance, please note that in the event of a government or local council mandated shutdown, we will offer to refund your order in full, or offer to hold it for a date of your choosing in the future, whichever option you prefer. If you need to cancel an order due to any other circumstances, it will be subject to our standard T&Cs. All other circumstances: Telephone and online orders cancelled 7 days or more before the delivery/collection date will receive a full refund on the order total; orders cancelled within 3-6 days of delivery/collection will be entitled to a 50% refund and any orders cancelled within 48 hours of the order date will not be entitled to a refund. Customers who have booked and received an invoice from Valencia Cakes Ltd are entitled to a full refund on the order total for cancellations made 28 days or more in advance of the order date and a 50% refund for orders cancelled within 7-27 days of the order date. Orders cancelled within 7 days of delivery/collection will not be entitled to a refund.

How should I store my cake?We recommend storing our cakes in the fridge. Unlike mass-produced, factory-made cakes, all our cakes are baked fresh to order and are free from artificial preservatives, so we recommend refrigeration for optimal freshness and taste, especially in the warmer months of the year. When storing cake in the fridge always allow it to come to room temperature before serving and enjoying it – small cakes will only need around 30-45 minutes, but larger cakes may take a several hours so please make sure to plan for your occasion.

How long will my cake stay fresh to eat?We recommend enjoying your cake on the day of your occasion, but if you have any cake left over, it is fine to store it in the cake box for a day or so, or if stored in an air-tight container in the fridge, you can keep it for an additional day.

I’m collecting my cake order by car, how should I handle / transport it?"Preparation starts before you leave home! Following this easy guide will ensure your cake order arrives at its destination in optimal condition …and more importantly, in one piece! Before collecting your cake, ensure that you have made space in your fridge at home or if the cake is being delivered to a venue, that they have a place to store the cake in a safe, cool, and dry place, (if refrigeration facilities are not available.) Ensure that the air conditioning in the car is turned on, on arrival for cake collection and that it remains on for the duration of your journey whilst transporting the cake. When picking up and holding a cake box, ALWAYS ensure to hold it from the bottom and try not to tilt the cake. Holding the cake cox from the side and/or tilting it will certainly cause damage to the cake. If you are travelling alone and don’t have anyone to hold the cake whilst travelling in the car, push the front passenger seat back and carefully place the box down in the footwell. This is the safest place as the surface is flat and will prevent any movement. Plan your journey to avoid busy routes and roads with speed bumps; the longer your cake is out of the fridge, the more likely it will get damaged. On arrival at its destination, carefully lift the cakebox out of the car footwell remembering to hold the box from the bottom and place it straight in the fridge / in a safe, cool and dry place. When it’s time to display the cake, please ensure to take the cake out of the fridge and keep it a room temperature for at least 30-40 minutes. For larger cakes, you may need to leave it out at room temperature for a further 15 mins or so. DO NOT leave your cake in direct sunlight.
